Details for the optional accessory "Air Distribution Boxes"

The air distribution boxes are optional accessories for use with models EBC 08 or EBC 09. They offer the possibility to connect one single CHD unit to a maximum of six small showcases. Two sizes of air boxes are available:- a small box for the EBC 08, a large box for the EBC 09. Two air boxes are required for each system (air inlet and outlet).

This accessory inlcudes: two air boxes, hoses and screw connectors.

Requirements & Important Notes

The air distribution boxes can only be used where an equal airflow can be supplied to all the linked showcases. Essential requirements for this are:-

1. That all showcases are of equal size and shape, made of the same materials, and are of an equal air and steam tightness.
2. That all showcases are exposed to the same ambient conditions (ie: located in the same room).
3. That the required humidity level is the same for all showcases

As the CHD will be controlled by a single sensor, it is not possible to set different RH levels for each showcase. Furthermore, the temperature/humidity sensor of the CHD will have to be placed in one of the showcases and the data provided by this sensor will then be used as a reference for all cases.

The maximum air volume (ie: the sum of all linked showcases) to be processed by one CHD, may be reduced noticeably when compared to the volume capacity of the device when it is used for just one showcase. This reduction depends on the number of showcases connected to the unit and other factors such as the quality of the case sealing, the length of the hoses, the ambient temperature/humidity and the like.

When using air boxes the required diameter of the holes in the showcase are as follows (as compared to the direct connection)

EBC 08 ... 20 mm instead of 25 mm
EBC 09 ... 25 mm instead of 32 mm.

Due to the necessity to use equal lengths of hose for each case it may be that quite a voluminous amount of flexible hose will need to be housed.
